Vintage Textiles to Wall Art Upcycle

I’ve always wanted to do more with my vintage hankies than just store them in a drawer.  Now that I’ve transformed some of them into wall art, their floral prints can make any room bloom.

If you want to harness some fabric flower power to make custom pictures, all you need are some vintage textiles, a few small canvases, a staple gun, staples, a needle, and a spool of thread.

First, I cut a piece of fabric to be just a bit larger than the canvas I was going to use.  Then, I stretched the fabric over the canvas using thread to hold it taut.  Finally, I used a staple gun to secure the fabric to the canvas.
     Here’s the finished project:
One picture is made from more modern fabric.  My favorite silk shirt from the early 2000s has taken on a new life!
