Seasonal transitions always inspire me to embrace change in my life. I’ve tried some new items this year to support biodiversity and reduce my ecological footprint. Here are some products that work well and will help you save money: 1.Lend a helping hand to bees with a pollinator hotel. According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, due to disease, habitat destruction, and pesticides, bee populations have fallen by anywhere from 50% to 96% since 1974. This is a critical issue because we depend on pollinators for over a third of our food supply. Wisconsin is home to over 400 species of native bees, many of which don’t live in hives. A pollinator hotel provides a home for solitary carpenter bees and mason bees, which reside in the earth, dried plant stems, and crevices in trees. Further help pollinators by planting seeds that are native to your area. Since most of the compartments in my bee hotel are occupied right now, I’m betting on brighter blooms and a better harvest next year! 2.Buy one product to sanitize your hands for the rest of your life. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers dry out your skin and create plastic waste. Roll and rub a StayWell Copper dog tag or hand roller on your hands to eliminate bacteria. The copper ions will continue to kill microbes on your hands for up to 2 hours after application. 3.Invest in reusable period protection. A Flex Reusable Disc is comfortable and easy to use. It can last for several years!
As 2025 approaches, I feel motivated to continue to live in a more environmentally friendly way!
